Two people are chosen to be the "Foxes".

These are the rules of playing Paper Chase.

Everyone else are the known as the "Hounds".

The "Foxes" would run away, usually across country, and try to escape capture while be chased by the "Hounds".

Originally a bag of paper was carried by the "Foxes" handfuls of which was thrown out as they ran away.
